Course Details
The course is designed to train individuals on operating a bike response with your own unique gear and uniforms. You are encouraged to wear your own department uniform and bring the equipment your bike will be equipped with. However, if you do not have these, we encourage a regular bike uniform and bring added weight to simulate the equipment you would carry.
Uniform: Bike shoes with a rigid platform, may use clips or no clips. Pants may be shorts or long pants (being summer, we encourage shorts). Shirt, high visibility shirt is encouraged that is also dry fit style short. Helmet, you must bring your own helmet that is properly fit. Gloves, open finger gloves are encouraged. Hydration, we encourage a personal backpack-style hydration system.
Bike: you must bring your own bike, we do no have extra bikes for rent.
Repair kits: You should bring your own repair kits, however, collectively we work to help with minor fixes. Repair kit should include extra tire tube and tools.
Meals: most lunches will be provided, but Tomball is full of eateries you are welcome to go to.
Classroom material: The course fees include all of the text material, but you are encouraged to bring a notepad and writing utensils. You are welcome to bring beverages in containers with a lid.
Overnight: You are welcome to store your bike and gear in the classroom overnight. The building is locked after 5 pm until 8 am.
